JACKSON WARD. Located in the heart of Richmond's historically black district, this museum highlights traditional African artifacts, the accomplishments of African-American artists and the history of black people, emphasizing those of the state of Virginia. Exhibits include the tap shoes of Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and memorabilia from the history of the Jackson Ward district. In addition to its permanent exhibits, the museum also offers special exhibitions, events,and programs.

SHOCKOE BOTTOM. Located in Richmond's oldest building, this museum is a must for admirers of literary master Edgar Allan Poe. On the hour, you can take a guided tour that will give you a look at one of the world's largest collections of Poe manuscripts, first editions and personal belongings.

DOWNTOWN. The world's largest collection of Confederate artifacts, featuring artwork, letters and personal effects from the Civil War. View such items as Robert E. Lee's "Appomattox" sword, J.E.B. Stuart's plumed hat, and Stonewall Jackson's weaponry. Take a guided tour of The White House of the Confederacy, restored to its wartime elegance as the resident of Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his family throughout the war. Pick up some novelty items and rare reproduction artifacts in the Museum's Haversack store.

DOWNTOWN. Housed in a refurbished Railway Express Agency car, this railroad museum provides guests with stories and artifacts that concern the history of the area's rails.

DOWNTOWN. Electrifying, astronomical and out of sight! Displays at this museum are based on scientific themes like electricity, astronomy, optical illusions, physical science, computers and crystals. Have fun with the interactive exhibits and take in a show at the Ethyl Universe Planetarium and Space Theater.
